Why Amayuu?
AMAYUU Cinnamon is processed into quills and packed within two days from harvesting (probably the freshest Cinnamon of the World) to preserve its amazing health benefits, aroma, taste and colour. Compare this with the traditional method which takes 10-14 days.
We harvest selected materials from chemical free best cinnamon fields in the area surrounding the processing plant (in Matara-southern Sri Lanka & Matale-Central Sri Lanka), peel and process them hygienically into variety of forms in ISO22000 / HACCP certified processing plant. ISO 22000 / HACCP certified production process delivers products with low moisture and very low microbial counts. Our products can be consumed in raw form even without cooking.
We take great care to select only the best part of the inner bark to make premium quality quills. Therefore, we use 50% more raw material stock to produce our Cinnamon quills. These quills are then cut into different sizes. Parts of these quills are then ground into Tea bag cut and fine powder; these two materials do not contain chips or any other byproduct or wastes. All our Cinnamon products are made from Ceylon cinnamon in pure natural form without any chemical treatments or additives.
We assure you that our Cinnamons are the freshest and finest Ceylon Cinnamon you can buy anywhere in the world. We are a family-managed enterprise operating in the southern Sri Lanka – the heart of the cinnamon growing area and producing only a very few tons of this artisanal product every year.

Amayuu Pure Ceylon Cinnamon – GI Certified
Amayuu Pure Ceylon Cinnamon proudly holds a Geographical Indication (GI) certification, with registration number EDB/PGI/059 P.M.E, affirming its authenticity and premium quality. This certification guarantees that our cinnamon originates from Sri Lanka, specifically from areas renowned for producing true Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum). The GI certification acts as a seal of authenticity, ensuring that consumers receive a product that is rooted in a particular geographical origin with unique qualities.
What is Geographical Indication (GI)?
A Geographical Indication (GI) is a form of intellectual property protection that links a product’s quality, reputation, or other characteristics to its place of origin. In the case of Amayuu Pure Ceylon Cinnamon, the GI certification signifies that the cinnamon comes from a specific region in Sri Lanka, known for producing the finest and most authentic variety of this spice. This certification helps protect producers from imitation, allowing them to command a premium price while giving consumers confidence that they are purchasing a genuine, high-quality product.
Importance of GI Certification
Authenticity: The GI certification verifies that Amayuu Ceylon Cinnamon is authentic and not mixed with inferior varieties, such as Cassia, often sold as cinnamon in other parts of the world.
Quality Assurance: Products with GI certification adhere to strict quality standards, ensuring the finest purity, taste, and aroma. For Amayuu, this means our cinnamon retains its delicate flavor profile, sweet aroma, and health benefits, distinguishing it from other types.
Global Recognition: GI certification elevates Amayuu Cinnamon on the global stage. It establishes a unique identity tied to Sri Lanka’s rich heritage and agricultural expertise, enhancing its competitiveness in international markets.
Consumer Trust: In an era where product authenticity is paramount, GI-certified cinnamon gives consumers the assurance they need. It guarantees that the cinnamon they are purchasing comes from a region with a longstanding tradition of producing superior quality.
